Collections
Midway Village Museum collects artifacts of all kinds—from airplanes to almanacs—in order to preserve an enduring record of Rockford’s past. Currently, the museum has more than 80,000 artifacts in its collection. Your gift enables us to maintain superior collections management practices to ensure the accountability, preservation and accessibility of the collections in support of Midway Village Museum’s mission.

Education and Community Outreach
Fun and exciting educational opportunities abound! Meet President and Mrs. Lincoln during Civil War Living History Days. Assist the Red Cross as they provide care and support to the soldiers during World War II Days. Learn “first hand” how Rockford has both influenced, and been influenced by, world and local events. Using interpretive multimedia, interactive learning experiences and instructive resources, our education specialists create educational programming in conjunction with schools’ curricula to make Rockford’s history come alive! Children and adults alike can go back to the turn of the century to play baseball with a Midway Marauder, bring an apple to the teacher at Old Stone School, explore the Victorian village, tour the galleries and learn about the people and events that have shaped the Rockford we know today.  With your donation to Education and Community Outreach, Rockford’s rich and vibrant past will serve both as a foundation and inspiration as present and future generations create a bright and promising future.

Exhibits
From the Rockford Peaches to Rockford Industries, and Doll’s Huse to the Millhouse, our award winning exhibits inspire our visitors to learn about life in our greater Rockford community in the early 20th century! o make Midway Village Museum’s research and collections accessible, relevant and exciting, our exhibits curator designs, fabricates and maintains exhibitions and supplies technical expertise for the Museum’s various outreach initiatives. Your gift will ensure that precious collections and vital research remain accessible to all who visit Midway Village Museum. 

The Historian’s Fund
The Historian’s Fund provides flexibility for strategic investments in programs, projects and activities that advance, enhance and expand the overall mission of Midway Village Museum. Unrestricted funds available through the Historian’s Fund enable the museum to respond to unexpected opportunities and unforeseen needs, provide ancillary support for staff and volunteer enrichment, and make funds available for strategic investments in programs, projects and activities that the President finds essential to the overall mission of Midway Village Museum.

Heritage Gardens and Native Plant Restoration
Midway Village Museum is committed to the continuing research and development of gardens and native plantings that accurately reflect the landscape of the turn of the century, allow for interactive opportunities for visitors and enhance the grounds of the museum. Your gift to Heritage Gardens and Native Plant Restoration will safeguard this essential aspect of our history, maintain the health and beauty of current gardens and natural landscapes, and ensure the addition of future gardens , native plant restoration initiatives and educational programs.

Artifact Preservation
Perhaps one of our most important and most daunting responsibilities is that of preservation. Ongoing efforts are necessary to preserve precious historical artifacts and archives as the passage of time and natural deterioration are a constant threat. With your support, through environmental control, collections maintenance and conservation, our valuable collections will remain as witness to the rich and robust history of the vibrant community of Rockford. 
                                        
Village Preservation and Restoration
As with your own beloved home and community, it is necessary to regularly invest in the maintenance and upkeep of the homes and businesses in our village.  Gifts to Village Preservation and Restoration will ensure that the historical integrity and beauty of Midway Village will be preserved for educational interpretation and the enjoyment of visitors now and in the future.
