History's Mysteries

WEEKLY CAMPS
AGES: Rising First Graders through Rising Fifth Graders

History’s Mysteries: Dirty Jobs

June 15th–June 19th

Investigate some of the jobs that people of the past had to do by hand that we now do with machines and electricity. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty as a blacksmith, cook, printer and more in our Victorian Village.

History’s Mysteries: Crime Solvers

June 22nd–June 26th

Use criminal investigation techniques to solve a Victorian crime. You will end the week by using the skills you learned in camp to help solve the crime. Campers will be faced with challenges just like real detectives!

History’s Mysteries: Barnyard Bonanza

July 6th–July 10th

Come spend a week down on the farm as we learn about chores, activities and games, all to help learn how to run a farm. We’ll learn how to herd balloon chickens, milk fiberglass cows and plant plastic crops, before we get a visit from some real farm animals on the last day of camp.

History’s Mysteries: Village Artists

July 13th–July 17th

Art is the ultimate expression of truth. We will be exploring many famous artists and recreating some of their most famous works. But never fear, we will also be letting our imaginations run wild and creating our own great works of art this week in camp.

History’s Mysteries: Folklore

July 20th–July 24th

Come listen, reenact and share traditional Folklore from across the centuries and across the world. Participate in activities of childlore – folklore passed down from child to child, such as nursery rhymes and playground games, to tales of unique wisdom and imagination told through the spirits of the past.

History’s Mysteries: History’s Explorers

July 27th–July 31st

Explore the climate, flora and fauna of the seven continents just as the first explorers. Learn about the Native cultures and traditions of each continent. Play games and create crafts as we explore these far-off places from the safety of our Victorian Village.

History’s Mysteries: Going Green

August 3rd–August 7th

What does it mean to “go green?” And what are we doing today that our ancestors did over 100 years ago? Make your own recycled artwork, play games and learn how you can be a part of Midway’s Green Team.
