Dinner with General Patton
Thursday, September 22, 6-8 p.m.
Participants will enjoy a tasty meal and hear a first-person presentation by General Patton who stands out in the American conscious better than any other general. As a combat general he was unequaled, fearless, brave to a fault and keenly aware his destiny was out of his hands. Hear about his experiences, see photos and artifacts, and receive a special tour of the General Patton Mobile Command Center, new to the event this year! $35 per person for adults and children; $30 museum members. Space is limited and preregistration is required by Thursday, September 15. The dinner is held at the museum center on the museum grounds. To register call, 815-397-9112.
Behind the Lines Tour
Friday, September 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Experience the WWII Days Event the evening before it opens to the public with a behind the scenes look. Participants will interact with reenactors, get an up close look at vehicles, and experience displays. Also included is a tour of the 150 yard, 3 bunker trench system and a copy of the 20th Anniversary souvenir book! $15 per person, preregistration is required by Monday, September 19 and space is limited. Please call 815-397-9112 to secure your space. The tour is held on the event site on the museum grounds.
Saturday, September 24, 7-11 p.m.
Listen to the featured swinging sounds of the Moonlight Jazz Orchestra. Guests are encouraged to attend the USO style dance in 1940s attire. A bar and concessions are available for purchase. $7 cover at the door, registered reenactors are free of charge. The dance is held at the Indoor Sports Center, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd., Loves Park, IL.
