Upon entering the space, visitors will be welcomed to the exhibit with the last flag that flew over Camp Grant displayed on the ceiling. Introductory panels on fabricated walls will briefly cover Rockford before Camp Grant and the beginning of WWI.

Moving to the right, visitors will enter a reproduction of Camp Grant’s Mess Hall, with a Harley Davidson motorcycle parked out front where the story of Ervin Bottlemy will be told. Entering the Mess Hall, visitors can sit down at a table interactive with three place settings, with each setting covering an individual topic about Camp Living.

Continuing the story of Camp Grant during WWII, visitors will move through the exhibit into the Barracks. A wooden exterior will lead to a staged interior portion. Audio segments of an individual’s life at Camp Grant may be triggered by various vistor interactions with the exhibit. The Recreation Hall stage will also be featured with a slideshow of various photos from the multiple shows and activities that took place at the Camp.
